Frequently Asked Questions:

1)    Are there any pre-requisites to join Network?

You do not necessarily need to have a strong foundation in the field of entrepreneurship but you have to be very committed to our club and actively participate in our club events.

2)    Activities in the CCA/ What does the club normally do?

Our club organizes two main competitions: Best Business Idea and Virtual Business Challenge. You can choose to join in the working committees of these projects and help to plan and organize the competitions.
Other than that, Network also organizes weekly entrepreneurial modules whereby we expose members to the field of entrepreneurship and we also invite many external speakers here to share their experiences with us.

3)    Does Network engage in an actual entrepreneurship projects (eg. selling items etc)?

Network organizes retail stalls whereby we get to sell our own stuff and earn some profits for ourselves. For example, we annually set up the V’Day Retail Stall, which is the sale of ice-cream cones. For last year’s stall, we earned nearly 1k in profit and we also donated part of it to the school student needy fund. Other retail stalls include the Mother’s Day retail stall. This year, we are also planning to open up a flea market for network members to experience selling stuff to the public.

4)    Do you need to put Network as the first CCA?

It will be preferable but you need not necessarily place Network as your first CCA when choosing your CCA options. However, in placing Network as your second choice, you must ensure that you are still able to make it for our weekly CCA sessions on Wednesdays and attend our club events.

5)    How will members be recruited into Network?

We base our recruitment criteria on many different factors. Firstly, the teachers-in-charge will be evaluating the filled application forms. Next, we will gauge your turn-out rates and activeness in the club events that we organize, such as CCA sessions on Wednesdays and also the upcoming orientation camp.

6)    Can I still participate in the Best Business Idea Competition or Virtual Business Challenge if I am in Network?

Yes, you can still sign up to participate in BBI or VBC even if you are in Network. In fact, our club largely encourages members to join these competitions and many others such as, Start-up @ Singapore, as we want our own members to gain experience from these competitions.
