JC1 Orientation!

The inaugural Network Orientation Camp, was a great success. The one-day camp consisted of activities, which not only inculcated entrepreneurial spirit, but were also fun and entertaining.

The day started off with “Wacko”, melting the barriers between our new Network members and enabled us to get to know each other better. It was then followed by a group research and presentation, where each group looked up an entrepreneur they were interested in and shared his/her journey with the rest of us.

After an hour of research, the groups were ready to share!

After a long day at work, it was once more time to play. This time, teams of members tried their hand at a version of the Virtual Business Challenge (VBC) created just for Orientation! Teams pitted their Economic sense and analytical skills against each other to make crucial decisions in the housing market, building houses and investing in research and development, all in the hopes of being the winning team!

And so ended the camp on a happy note and here’s what a couple of members had to say about the camp:

Apart from gaining more information on Elim Chew from working on our presentation, the sharing session was a very meaningful one as we learnt of the various success stories of quite a number of entrepreneurs from the other groups, some of which were household names such as Ya Kun Kaya Toast. I couldn’t help observing that groups managed to rush out such brilliant PowerPoint presentations and skits under an hour and how some of the groups were entertaining. — Ng Geok Ting

The content presented in general allowed us to learn more about each of the entrepreneurs, some of which we have not heard of before. There are many traits which are common in all of them, such as innovation, perseverance and diligence.  There are also some unique reasons for their success, such as family background, which varies from entrepreneur to entrepreneur. — Jin Wenjia

Thank you to all the Network members, new and old, who came down for the camp — you were what made it such a success :D
